Today is the day heeehaaa……today being the 19 December 2012. The house is packed, keys handed over to Siobhan, our agent and the campervan with Jeep standing ready to go. Our first stop is Seweweekspoort. We left Cape Town round 12 noon. Headed out onto the N2 towards Somerset West. Just after the Gordon’s Bay turnoff, John gave the van some juice and headed up Sir Lowrys Pass, oops wrong……a red light appeared on the dashboard indicating that the engine was overheating…couldn’t be……brand new van, had only done round 800kms.
We pulled over and switched the engine off…everything was back to normal…however now there was a certain amount of dis-ease as we were not sure what to do, turn round, call John or carry on!! We decided to call John at Vista Motorhomes who immediately alerted the Fiat crew in Helderberg. Gavin Osmond called us and advised that the engine could not overheat, what might have happened was it could have been a loose connection….so on we drove. About 2 hours from George, when John revved the engine above 3000 revs, it happened again….switched the engine off, all back to normal. We called Gavin, who advised to rather spend the night in George so that Fiat George could have a look at the campervan the following morning….suggested they reset everything with their computer. So our first night was spent in Klein Brak Rivier at the Outeniqua Caravan Park.
It was another lazy Saturday afternoon in Cintsa. Tina was indulging in a siesta so I decided to take the dogs for a leisurely beach walk. One of the most appealing things about Cintsa is the pristine sandy beach that follows the curve of the bay for miles. Tina and I had noticed an astonishing […]
Hi Tina & John
Hope you both had a nice Christmas, I’m following you with interest and waiting for the next update. I’m having a nice relaxing time at the moment as George left today or Kruger with Amanda & Family. Have the Bullies settled down now?
Wishing you both a very happy and interesting 2013. Sylvia x
Hi Sylv’ We had a smashing Christmas, although it rained quite a lot. Glad you are having some ‘ladytime’. Bullies have settled down into a routine, which I’m sure will change again when we leave Hogsback. We thinking of going to Grahamstown next, then on to East London and then Morgans Bay. I posted quite alot recently, have you read it all already LOL. Have a fab New Year, will post soon. Lots of love J&T, Quince and Gypsey.
