Campervan Cooking – Simply Stroganoff

Simply Stroganoff

Simply Stroganoff

Ingredients

500 grams sirloin
1 and a half cups of red wine
1 Onion
Green/Yellow Peppers
250mls of fresh cream
Cherry tomatoes
Salt and pepper
Dried Parsley

Method

The sirloin is to be cut into strips and marinated in the red wine for about 45 minutes to an hour. In an electric frying pan (heat 2) or a normal pan, (non stick), add the onion finely chopped and cook for about 3 minutes, next add the chopped peppers and mix in with the onions, stirring. Check your liquid content, if a bit dry, then add a little of the marinade from steak. Once the onion and peppers are soft, add the sirloin and red wine. Allow to simmer, checking on the liquid content so as not to burn the dish, for about 35 minutes, or until the meat is tender. This might take longer so cook until meat is tender. Then stir in the cream. Add a couple of cherry tomatoes and simmer for a further 5 minutes or until the tomatoes are soft. Add salt and pepper and some dried or fresh parsley.

Turn off the heat and allow the dish to stand for about 15 minutes before serving.

Serve with buttered noodles

  1. Am watching your site with interest (Greg at Vista told me about it) as my husband, deutschund & I are planning to travel in a motorhome! Find it interesting that you are cooking with an electric pan – think that is a great idea and I’ll definitely be ‘pinching’ that! Keep up the good work – will be watching you!!! lol

Cintsa Beach Walk

It was another lazy Saturday afternoon in Cintsa. Tina was indulging in a siesta so I decided to take the dogs for a leisurely beach walk. One of the most appealing things about Cintsa is the pristine sandy beach that follows the curve of the bay for miles. Tina and I had noticed an astonishing […]
