Code 14 driving lessons with Sbu

After our wandel along the beach, we had to be back by 9.30am latest.  I was expecting Trevor for a laser treatment as he had fallen on the rocks over the weekend and bruised or cracked his ribs quite badly, so was in a lot of pain.  John had to be off at 10am for his next truck driving lesson, also had some shopping  to do for me.  It was quite an overcast day, so I did a quick clean in the van and then put my head down to do some work on our website and blogsite.  John wassuped later to say that the owner had double booked his lesson, so he had moved it to the afternoon.  This gave John time to upload his pics and download emails.  We had reccied the Vincent Shopping Centre in EL, the last time we were there and found a Mugg and Bean that gave us 30mins free wifi, so John headed there.

Bullies asleep in the campervan

During the course of the morning, both dogs had found their way inside the campervan as it was beginning to get a little chilly outside, definitely a chance of rain or even a thunderstorm.  So before the rain came down, it was time for them to go for a little amble up the road to feed Dash and Fudge their daily carrot.  Its quite amazing how soon the horses come to realise a routine you set for them. As soon as they see either John or I with the dogs, they whinny and run up to the fence in expectation.  The dogs have got quite used to them now and don’t even give them a glance.

We got home just in time to put the dogs beds up on the table and their blanket inside, when the heavens opened and down came the rain.  It was a blessing as it had been so humid for many days.   I decided then and there that we would be treating ourselves to a little dinner that evening, definitely wasn’t an evening fit for a braai and I certainly didn’t feel like cooking in the van with both dogs under my feet, it was too wet for them to be outside.

John arrived home just after 4pm.  I was expecting Trevor for his daily laser treatment and quizzed him as to the whereabouts of a good pizza parlour.   Monsters, he informed us, was outstanding.  It was in the Crossways Centre, about 20mins from the caravan park, but definitely worth a trip, so Monsters it was.   We left round 6ish for our meal, this time we decided to leave the dogs in the car and just have the night off, the two of us.  We had a lovely meal, on a deck overlooking a dam.  After the rain, it was cool and pleasant.   Now its time for us to close off and say nite nite

  1. Hi Tina & John,

    Spoilt dogs!!

Just to let you know that our black miniature poodle had 4 pups last week, 3 girls and a boy. Mother and babies are all fine!

The whelping box that you kindly lent us was ready and waiting, and has been a tremendous help – thank you so much for allowing us to use it. It is sufficiently big that we have partitioned half off and they can “expand” into the whole area once they become more active, which again will be a big help.

Many thanks once again, let us know when you are back from your travels so we can return the box to you. Meanwhile please don’t hesitate to ask if there is anything we can do for you in your absence.

We have followed your blogs when time permits, and are most interested in your comments, adventures recipes etc, hope everything continues to go well.
Congratulations on your professional web site and it’s content – very well done! Best wishes, Marion & Eddie.

    • Hello from Cintsa….congratulations on becoming grandparents LOL. I’m sure you are very proud. Please don’t worry about the whelping box. I just hope once you have finished with it, it won’t be in in your way. Our tenants are a bit fussy, so don’t want to impose on them to store it in our garage. Thank you for your kind offer, I think all is under control. Our agent is looking after our tenants, so far, so good. Give the bundles of fluff a big ‘woof woof’ from our bullies and a cuddle from us. Take care now and so glad you are following us on saroadtrip.com

Please could you let me know when would be convenient for us to collect the whelping box and fleeces from you. We are in the process of immigration to New Zealand. Our home and campervan have been sold. Sad, yes, but excited too about our new adventure. You can also contact me by cellphone on 082547187. We are presently staying in a rented apartment in Hout Bay. Looking forward to hearing from you. Best Tina Botton

ACTIVITIES

Cintsa Beach Walk

It was another lazy Saturday afternoon in Cintsa. Tina was indulging in a siesta so I decided to take the dogs for a leisurely beach walk. One of the most appealing things about Cintsa is the pristine sandy beach that follows the curve of the bay for miles. Tina and I had noticed an astonishing […]
