Campervan at Bestershoek Caravan Park

Campervan at Bestershoek Caravan Park

Phew, its sooo hot again today…..we’re not so sure this campervanning is turning out to be fun after all, especially for us….all this travelling…what about fun on the beach, walking on the dunes, swimming in the sea….long walks early in the morning and evening, groan, fart.  Back in the van we go and off to Somerset East.   Dad wants to visit his ancestors there.  Apparently they lived there in the 1800’s and early 1900’s, so looks like we will be walking through the graveyard…hmm could be fun…..let’s see what happens in Somerset East.

Ha, we went right past the campsite and had to do a big turnaround with campervan and zook, that was scary stuff…..woof.  So,now we have arrived at the Somerset East campsite.   Mom says it reminds her of the South Coast in Kwazulu Natal, wherever the heck that is, we’ve never been there, well that is, yet.   Loads of trees, bush and the calls of birds and monkeys….could be fun too…let’s see if we can find some vervets.  Vervets are small monkeys woof.  We are the only campers, so no doggie friends to play with here either, BUT, Dad says we can be leadless, so that is at least something.  Oh no, it looks like rain, the clouds are gathering, so that means a long walk is out for us today….oh boy, who says it’s a dog’s life.

We never did get to play around in the graveyard, Dad decided to head off on his own, while Mom packed up the van,we wanted to head to Hogsback in time for Christmas and New Year….heehaa that means we can have Siobhan’s present.

One of the most appealing things about Cintsa is the pristine sandy beach that follows the curve of the bay for miles. Tina and I had noticed an astonishing […]
