Pizza? Mmmmmm I love pizza, but I don’t like the melted cheese or soggy ingredients that go onto most pizzas….all to often when the pizza arrives at your table, the base is burnt and crumbly making it difficult to cut or eat, the cheese is stringy and the other ingredients are overcooked. So here’s a BIG THUMBS UP to Col’cacchio in Westlake Office Park, Tokai, Cape Town..run by Christina and her brother who really go the extra mile to make your meal ‘simply the best’.
I love the plain pizza bread with herbs and garlic, not overcooked, just nice and soft, on top of that all fresh ingredients some of which are rocket, italian shaved parmesean, fresh cherry tomatoes, lovely sliced avo, bits of crisy cooked bacon, topped with a huge spoonful of fresh garlic in olive oil…..YUM.
Pizzas are not all that are on offer…there are plenty of other lip smacking dishes to choose from.
It is best to ring Christina and her crew to reserve a table inside, any night of the week if you want a seating before 8pm , you might be sorely disappointed if you just ‘rock up’. Most, if not all the tables inside are occupied, however there is normally seating available outside. ‘Outside’ is covered and has heaters for the colder evenings plus, lovely warm polar fleece blankets are on offer, for the real chilly winter evenings.
Friendly waiters, good SA wine, and competitive prices complete our dining experience. Why not check it out for yourselves when next in Cape Town…its definitely worth a visit.
