With the zook hooked up, we’re ready to go

So, the morning of 21 December 2012, we head up the N1 towards Somerset West in our new van.  I, wasn’t so sure about this thingy that sticks out the front of the windscreen, they call a luton, I’m a bit concerned it might just fall off onto my head….Dad shouts at me to get back as all I want to do is stand between the passenger and driver’s seats to make sure this thingy called a luton stays exactly where it is.  By this time, I’m beginning to pant big-time and of course bullies slobber and slobber lots, especially when they are stressed, like I was.  Oh dear….. Dad tried to put the hazard light button on as our campervan was playing up, oops….it wouldn’t work, Dad said it was  cause I slobbered so hard, it had gone right inside.  Looks like I was in the dog-box again.  Dad calls Gypsey   a ‘tart’ or ‘fat-bitch’, LOL, but she doesn’t really mind, cause she knows he is only joking.  Gypsey is not sure why I am so stressed,  she says  it’s just a silly luton……she has found a really nice cool spot on the floor between the kitchen and the dining area and that is where she will place herself until such time as we stop for a wee or tea.

Yay, at last we have reached our first destination….Klein Brak Rivier just outside Mossel  Bay.  Dad and Mom booked us into the Outeniqua Caravan Park just for one night, its dog friendly, that means we might make some friends on our walk tonight, you just never know.  Dad let us get out the campervan, phew so pleased we are back on four legs again.  The campervan is really nice, but I,  don’t really enjoy the travelling,  I know Gypsey does though.  She doesn’t really have a care in the world, or so she makes out to be, woof.

Well, dog friendly, don’t know about that…pesky little things running around, think they own the campsite, grrrr.   How come they can be off lead and we need to be on lead, just not fair, is it now! Dad would allow us off lead, but Mom says it’s not the correct thing to do, not in a campsite anyway..something about ‘lead by example’.  Huh…lead by example, how can we lead by example when the others aren’t even on leads……get our drift (woof).

So Outeniqua was sort of okay…..but too full, not much fun and no playmates….we did have a good supper though, nothing like a daily dose of BARF yum.  So now it’s time for us to say good night folk, yawn, yawn, scratch, scratch….fart…..more tomorrow.

ACTIVITIES

Cintsa Beach Walk

It was another lazy Saturday afternoon in Cintsa. Tina was indulging in a siesta so I decided to take the dogs for a leisurely beach walk. One of the most appealing things about Cintsa is the pristine sandy beach that follows the curve of the bay for miles. Tina and I had noticed an astonishing […]
